advice for field commanders Empty advice for field commanders

Post by captain_karpov Sat Nov 22, 2014 11:23 am

I wish to make it known that any field commanders in the clan who would like some advice on the subject can speak to me any time I am online to arrange some 1 on 1 training room/maptactic advice.

I do not know the best plan for every map, but when it comes to fundamental mistakes to be avoided I think I have enough experience to advise you. So feel free to speak to me if you want any sort of advice or an opinion on any aspect of field commanding.

No one has come forward, but I know there are people who want to FC more often so here is my suggestion 5/1/14 on teams setups.

Tier 6

T37x3
KV85x2
FV304x1
ELC AMX x1

You can bring a cromwell in place of either a heavy or a T37 and adjust your plans accordingly. You have arty so do not rush the final push! You can also bring a T-34-85 in place of a HT, also you can bring T150s or even ARLs in place of KV85s.

Tier 8

3 LT (T49,WZ,1390)
1 Arty
4 IS3
2 50-100

T32s may be used in place of the IS3s/50-100s, this will require a bit of experimentation to get right if you do. With T-32s you should be a little bit more campy/pokey if terrain permits.

I think arty is important and should only be played by a decent arty player, not just a second choice or someone who is prepared to re buy it.

A good alternative is simply 7 medium/light tanks, using basic tactics and avoiding being split up, the games tend to be faster and sometimes you lose on capping, but it makes nice change in play style. No one in the clan should be scared to make a skirmish and try this. Just dont split into groups that cannot support each other! Splitting up is good for map control BUT only when you are certain of being able to support each other.
